"There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can control the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to - The Outer Limits."

La Petite Muerte, a group show exploring notions of mortality, sex, death and rituals in celebration of Mexican Day of the Dead opens tonight at Drawers Gallery, London E8. Bad Behaviour Review

Here's an excerpt from a review of recent show Bad Behaviour written by Paul Luckraft, curator at Modern Art Oxford.

'...Also engaged in a formal play is Charley Peters, whose abstract drawings employ delicate lines, coloured tape and graphite. The drawings have a real elegance, particularly the smaller line based pieces that appear as if they could be woodblock prints or etchings.  The larger tape piece in grey, black and white stripes which emanate out from the centre of the board in a sunburst affect is displayed propped against a wall, with a green light giving an artificial toxic glow behind it.  This piece in particular has echoes of Jim Lambie’s psychedelic, optically dizzying installations.  Another larger framed drawing in graphite suggests TV white noise or a night-time snowstorm. Here subtle lines, perhaps creases or folds, add a tension to the ‘all-over’ composition...'

Bad Behaviour at Brixton East

Bad Behaviour, a group show of eight artists continues at Brixton East, SW9 7JF until Sunday 28 October. The gallery is open 12-6pm Thursday-Sunday.

Exhibition News: Bad Behaviour, Brixton East

The upstairs gallery at Brixton East

Installation started this weekend for the forthcoming group exhibition Bad Behaviour at the new south London venue Brixton East. A former Victorian furniture factory in the heart of Brixton, Brixton East forms an impressive and characterful backdrop to the show of work by artists from London, New York and Berlin.

Bad Behaviour opens at Brixton East on Friday 12 October 6.30-10.30pm.
