Sketches

Untitled Drawing (2011) (Detail), Ink on Paper

These are a selection of early sketches for a body of work where I use a repetitive line drawing system. The process of drawing is similar to the way in which the print head of an inkjet printer produces images, methodically sweeping from left to right. By applying subtle changes in pressure to the drawing instruments and slightly varying the angle of the successive lines, the resulting drawings gain movement and depth.
