Work in Progress: Psychoparadoxa
Charley Peters, Psychoparadoxa (2012), Card & Graphite Powder |
This is an early studio development of the Psychoparadoxa series of drawings, which explore spatiality and perspective through limited, instinctively drawn lines. The geometric 3-Dimensional construction - a drawing in space - is a physical interpretation of the linear movements suggested in the earlier ink drawings (examples below). The work depicted above is a maquette that will be developed in different materials over the coming weeks, focusing on creating fluid and dynamic single forms which move away from floor-based compositions and explore the physical space inhabited in the studio.

New Drawing: Exploring Surface and Form
Charley Peters, Untitled Drawing (2012), Graphite Powder on Paper |
One of a new series of drawings exploring the use of materials, in this case graphite powder, to express density, form and dimensionality. The drawing presents a metallic textured surface that is in sharp contrast to the smooth white ground of the paper.
